You don’t have permission to save in this location fix

So, I went to save a file to my usb today, and it gave me the above mistake. It will open files on my USB drive, indicating that it is not corrupt (sorry if thats the wrong word for it). I tried saving it to various folders on the usb, but it didn’t work. Please assist me in saving my homework to it.
Good day, Scarci5. Is it a USB flash drive you’re referring to? If you have some valuable data on it (and you have access to it), you can back it up. The USB flash drive should then be formatted. Run a chkdsk scan after that:
3. Type the command “chkdsk /F /R /X F:” without the quotation marks. (The F: represents the drive letter you want to examine.) The other represents the following: F/ corrects disk errors, R/ locates bad sectors and recovers readable data, and /X makes the volume dismount first if necessary)

How to fix word error normal.dot “word cannot save or create

I’m attempting to save a video clip to a portable hard drive. There are plenty of files on the drive, and there is still plenty of space. Other files from this project have been happily saved to this disk, so this is just an occasional problem. The clip in question saves without issue to the C: drive. There is no use of the Internet or streaming in all of this.
I’ve seen documented solutions to this error that recommend removing colons from the file name (this file has no colons) and using a registry cleaner (someone is trying to sell a registry cleaner). Obviously, this is nonsense. Is there anyone who can provide a solution to this vexing problem? Rebooting the machine, by the way, will often solve the problem.

How to change default save location in windows 10 pc

I’m assisting a customer who feels she’s been able to SAVE AS documents in a way that Windows won’t allow. She receives an Excel sheet in her inbox and saves it to her computer. She’ll go to the folder where she’d like to save the paper. She looks for a document using the SEARCH text box. She selects the document until it is located, and the file name appears in the FILE NAME text box. She selects SAVE after changing a portion of the file name. When she clicks save, a pop-up window appears, saying “You are unable to save in this place. Please choose a different venue.” I need to know why this happens and whether this approach has previously succeeded. I recognize that the approach she is using is not the most effective or rational. However, it is an end-user, and I would like to be able to get my issue addressed by posting a question on this site. I’ll paste the link to a page that explains why you can’t save MS Office documents from the search box. I hope this information is useful to anyone else dealing with this issue.

Windows 10 – upload files tutorial – how to save & move a

When working on documents and other files such as.jpg or.doc/.docx (Word file), saving them to specific folders does not cause any issues; however, Windows users who attempt to save a file to a specific folder can receive the “You don’t have permission to save in this directory” error. In addition, the error message suggests asking the administrator for permission and saving the file in the Documents (or another) folder.
If you get the “You don’t have permission to save in this place” error, it means you can’t change files or directories on the machine and need special permissions to do so. The error can occur on any Windows operating system, but it is most common on hard drives that have been formatted with an earlier version of the Windows NTFS file system. To overcome this issue, you can need to enforce solutions such as granting administrators complete power, disabling User Account Control, and so on. We list some potential solutions to the problem in the guide below.
