Utorrent keeps opening on startup

How to disable bittorrent on startup windows

I installed uTorrent a few months ago and unchecked the box that says “Start uTorrent with Windows” during the installation, and it worked fine until recently, when I turn on the PC and uTorrent is already up and running, as though it doesn’t even need time to start. I went to Task Manager->Start Up because I thought something had gone wrong, but uTorrent wasn’t there. What would I do to keep this from happening? uTorrent 3.5.0 build 44294 is built on Windows 10 and is the most recent update.
In Windows, the startup applications have switched around a bit, and there are now two different areas where you can handle them. They often produce different results, which may have something to do with how some applications register with either the old or new system.
A NOTE ABOUT uTORRENT: uTorrent has modified their software in recent years to mine bitcoins on your machine while you are not using it (that is, it runs your computer hard so that they can make invisible internet money). This knowledge, I believe, is not readily apparent when using or installing uTorrent. You should be wary of this if your machine is frail and on its last legs.

BitTorrent version 7.10.5 was recently downloaded and installed on my computer. I haven’t been able to stop the application from starting up. Within the app’s general settings, I unchecked the option to start BitTorrent when Windows starts. I reviewed the Task Manager on the device, and BitTorrent is only listed in the Process applications tab, not the Startup tab. I downloaded Autoruns but was unable to locate BitTorrent inside it.

How to disable startup programs in windows 10 regedit

The more software you have installed on your computer, the longer it will seem that Windows is taking to start up. Many programs add themselves to the list of programs that start when your machine boots up, and this list can grow very long.
Some applications, such as anti-virus and firewall software, are best off beginning with Windows. Starting most programs at boot-up, on the other hand, consumes energy and prolongs startup time. MSConfig, a tool included with Windows, allows you to quickly and easily see what programs are running at startup and disable the programs you want to run on their own after startup as required. This tool is used in Windows 7, Vista, and XP and can be used to disable startup programs.
NOTE: MSConfig may be used to configure a variety of items other than startup programs, so be cautious while using it. If you’re unsure about using it, simply follow the steps outlined in this post.
To run MSConfig, go to the Start menu and search for “msconfig.exe” (without the quotes). Results appear as you type. If the word “msconfig.exe” appears highlighted, click it or press Enter.

I’m having the same problem as you are. However, I am able to provide additional material. After downloading the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update, it began to start up on its own. I’ve tried selecting and then deselecting the start up at windows start, but it always happens. I can’t seem to find any settings in Windows that list it as a startup program.
I’m having the same problem. I’ve unchecked startup non-existent in task manager startup but it still boots with Windows. I’ve tried uninstalling and removing all settings but it still boots with Windows. I’ve also tested the startup folder and it’s empty. I’ve actually uninstalled it before this is fixed because I don’t want or need it booting with Windows.
