If you already have a good antivirus, you should remove any unwanted firewall software that causes uTorrent to crash frequently. V-Com Device Suite, Norman Personal Firewall, NVIDIA Firewall, or Cybersitter may all be to blame for the problem.
During the installation of the Spyware Doctor 5 tool, uTorrent often freezes. To fix this problem, uninstall it and replace it with an antivirus that doesn’t interfere with uTorrent, such as the one we recommended in this article.
There are also times when you may encounter the uTorrent is stuck at a certain percent of the download process. Fix: utorrent causes computer to crash/freeze
If anyone could assist me with this, it would be greatly appreciated. Maybe a reinstall will fix it, but I’d rather not do that because I’m seeding about 300 torrents and finding them all manually will be a hassle, so hopefully there’s a way to fix this first.
I’ve also been using Torrent version 3.4.2 (32-bit) with no issues for several years. Yesterday I started having the same issue (crash) as stated in previous posts with the exception that I’m still on Windows7. As a consequence, there isn’t anything wrong with Windows 10.
I reinstalled the same edition of Torrent a few times until it began to function again. It also worked for nearly 24 hours. Then it began to crash again. Now I’m using the most recent version – Torrent Stable (3.4.5 build 41865). It hasn’t crashed yet, so we’ll see how long it lasts. UPDATE 8th of March: On the Win7 PC, I’ve been running 3.4.1 build 31395 for 96 hours with no crashes or memory leaks. Just the 3.4.1 generation’s normal downside of a few temporary freezes here and there, but otherwise everything works great. On the XP computer, the memory leak never happened, and it still runs 3.4.2 build 38913 after 96 hours without crashing. It still amazes me that 3.4.2 build 34672 can’t run without crashing on both machines for no apparent cause, and that ***every*** version after 3.4.2 build 34672 has a disastrous memory leak on Windows 7!!!
Page fault blue screen error while downloading torrents in
Salutations! I’m asking because the utorrent forums administrator has yet to validate my registration, and I’m getting frustrated. As the title suggests, utorrent has been crashing seconds after startup for the past two nights, giving the infamous prompt in the picture, which I’m sure you’re familiar with.
I uninstalled uTorrent version 3.4.5 and installed version 3.4.6 Beta 41768, thanks to ‘Seafox4’ (I found it on FileHippo). This is a few revisions newer than the ‘Seafox4’ build that was previously mounted (it was released Feb 12). So far, all has gone well. It was ready to use right after installation (a very good sign considering version 3.4.5 would cause my PC to hang after opening it). I didn’t delete my settings when I uninstalled, so my unfinished torrents were still in the queue when I reinstalled. I was able to download and run the setup guide.
btw, I first noticed a problem when uTorrent informed me that a new version was available about two weeks ago. My laptop began to have issues from time to time. It wasn’t until today, though, that it crashed several times. Thankfully, I came across this platform and this solution. I hope this helps others!
[fixed] bittorrent and utorrent not responding with slow
Is Torrent crashing on startup for you? I received a slew of crash reports from startup crashes. They have something to do with DHT. Please post in this thread if you were one of the people who encountered immediate crashes (within 10 seconds). /LuddeSanchez /LuddeSanchez /LuddeS additionally: If it doesn’t crash, there’s no need to write.
I have a router, but ports are properly forwarded; I’d say it’s my AV, but everything worked great on my laptop; the machine on which I’m running it is just a 333 vs my 1.4gig laptop.
The fact that it crashes on two different clients leads me to assume it’s a problem with bittorrent rather than a specific client. I considered it to be the number of files I download, but I’ve had the same, if not more, with emule. I tried pausing a few times, but the game always crashed. Another possibility is that it’s crashing due to a poor client.
I’d say it’s a problem with your computer system. It has little to do with protocol. It’s most definitely the program you’re using; try uninstalling your antivirus software to see if that helps. If it does, congratulations, you’ve uncovered the culprit.
