Record a keynote presentation as a movie

Viewers can manually advance through the slideshow by clicking the mouse or pressing the Space bar on the keyboard (in the QuickTime controls). Viewers progress through the slideshow solely by clicking hyperlinks. If you filmed your slideshow (as mentioned on page 107 in “Recording a Voiceover Narration”), your slideshow movie will play back with the timing you recorded. Viewers have no influence about how the slideshow progresses; the slideshow plays according to the timing you define in the next step.
If you choose Fixed Timing, type values in the Slide Duration and Construct Duration fields to monitor how long slides appear and how long it takes to complete object builds.
After the last object is created, the amount of time each completely built slide remains on the screen.
Construct Duration: The time between the start of one build stage and the start of the next in each object build. There is no time delay between the first appearance of a slide on the projector and the first stage of object construction.

How to make a quicktime video from a keynote presentaiton

Notice that audio and video files must be in a format that QuickTime on your Mac or tablet understands. If you can’t connect or play an audio or video file, try converting it to a QuickTime file in MPEG-4 audio or H.264 video format using iMovie, QuickTime Player, or Compressor.
When you have a soundtrack in your presentation, the music starts playing as soon as the presentation begins. If there are any slides with audio or video already, the soundtrack will play on those slides as well.
Choose Keynote > Preferences (from the Keynote menu at the top of your screen), then General, then “Copy audio and movies into document” if you want to play your presentation on a different machine or device. This means that the soundtrack is available anytime you want to listen to it.
