How to download magnet links

While torrenting is often considered a dirty word, there are many advantages to using it, particularly when it comes to Linux. For instance, it’s a perfect way to outsource your bandwidth if you’re building a Linux distribution. There will be no more hosting of download servers. Simply distribute a torrent to your community and ask them to seed it! Everyone benefits from low bandwidth costs and fast transfers!
Torrenting on Linux is mostly done with GTK clients. Transmission-GTK is one of the most notable examples. People may be surprised to know, however, that torrents can be downloaded directly from the terminal. What’s the deal with all of this? Let’s take a look!
There are a lot of good CLI-based torrent clients out there, but transmission-cli is one of the best. It’s the simplest to use of all the options, and it’s close to the most popular torrent client on Linux (Transmission-GTK).
Adding a torrent to transmission-cli is an easy operation. Begin by locating a torrent file from your favorite torrent provider. We’ll be using the Ubuntu alternative release torrents in this tutorial.

The web interface has a cool mask that you can use to set up your torrents. You may upload a.torrent file (to a remote machine), a torrent URL, or, more recently, a magnet connection. This is really nice because you don’t have to deal with any.torrent files locally. All you have to do now is copy the connection.
When you use a torrent client directly on your computer, you choose the torrents you want to download. Without having to copy the link, clicking on the magnet link would most likely start the download immediately. The remote version of transmission lacked this level of comfort.

To correct this, take the following steps: Take note of the X-Transmission-Session-Id header while reading an answer. In your outgoing requests, provide the modified header. Resend your request with the new headers if you get a 409 error message. This requirement was introduced to help avoid cross-site request forgery (CSRF) attacks.

FYI: In case you didn’t know, there are a few pretty great BitTorrent applications to choose from, including “Tixati,” which is one of my favorites. You can save a torrent or magnet connection to a specified folder and it will automatically read it and begin the download in some of them, or you can copy and paste the “URL” into the application.
