3-step router set-up | synology

Synology’s RT2600AC is a dependable AC2600 router with MU-MIMO, dual WAN networking, and automatic band steering. It’s also been retrofitted to operate with Synology’s MR2200AC satellite unit in mesh systems.
The Synology RT2600AC is just the company’s second wireless router, but it’s a positive step in the right direction. It outperforms Synology’s older RT1900AC in almost every way, is compatible with Synology’s mesh wireless system, and has some impressive specs.
We recently installed a Synology RT2600AC in a home network to evaluate performance, speed, and throughput, as well as ease of installation, additional features, and more. Continue reading to find out if this router is worth the asking price.
In terms of style, the Synology RT2600AC sticks to the basics with a black rectangular aesthetic that doesn’t do much to distinguish itself from the competition. Angled ventilation slots on the top of the unit break up the blocky design, and you’ll also find a complete suite of indicator lights front and center.

The two most popular modems are the HG612V3b (ex-BT) and the HG612V3b (ex-AT&T), but you must find one that is unlocked. Just available secondhand on eBay and similar sites – don’t overpay. It’s much better if you have the UK edition of the Draytek Vigor 130. Obtaining the statistics necessitates some effort, but it isn’t difficult. Modem/router combos from Billion and Zyxel. Many of these have the option of turning off the router functions. However, not all of them are created equal, so it’s best to start with forums like http://kitz.co.uk.
Hey, Keith!
Thank you so much for your answer! Now I feel a little more educated. Any suggestions for a VDSL modem? I’d like to do it properly. I’ll do my own research anyway, but getting input from people who have done it before is always helpful. Thank you so much!

Hi there, fresh Spicehad!

How to set up synology router | synology

With Synology RT2600ACs at both ends, I was recently able to set up a site-to-site VPN between two offices. The relation was formed and remained stable. This is achieved with the VPN Plus kit from Synology, set up as a Site to Site VPN. My understanding of VPNs, subnets, and static routing is minimal. This is an area where I could use some support. On a 10.1.20.0/24 network, Site 1 has a network of a few computers. In Passthrough mode, the Synology router sits behind a Comcast business gateway. On a 10.1.30.0/24 network, Site 2 has a network of a few computers. In Passthrough mode, the Synology router sits behind a Comcast business gateway. What would it take to get these two subnets to talk to each other? Will it be enough to set up static routes? Is this something that the Site to Site VPN service is meant to do automatically? Is it okay if I change Site 2’s router gateway to Site 1? The packets never make it past their own router when I ping between the two site routers. The user’s ultimate aim is to be able to connect between remote office POS PCs and a server computer at Site 1, as well as browse all devices in File Explorer > Network. Essentially, I need two subnets to interact as if they were one network, using site to site VPN. Any support will be greatly appreciated. I’m sure this is VPN / subnetting 101, but I haven’t taken a CCNA class in a long time!
