Simple Plan’s music is often referred to as pop punk because it is a hybrid of pop and punk rock. But it was punk rock all the way when we were obstinate little teenagers! Since their inception in 1999, the French-Canadian band has released five studio albums (with all original members). Since we started listening to something heavier, we didn’t really follow up on Simple Plan and their previous albums (as you all will understand). But we can still hear those teenagers singing along to Perfect, Welcome To My Life, Untitled, and Shut Up! in our heads. So, yeah, we’re going to have a nice time. And we’re hoping that some other nostalgic knuckleheads will join us on a journey back to our punk rocking days.
“The foundation’s mission is to assist young people in need by facilitating their difficult transition to adulthood and providing assistance to those who are suffering from life-threatening illnesses. The foundation also claims that music can be a powerful tool in helping them find a life passion, keeping them away from street gangs and crime, and stopping them from dropping out of school.”

Simple Plan’s debut No Pads, No Helmets…Just Balls (2002), Still Not Having Any… (2004), and Simple Plan (2005) are among their most popular songs (2008). Between 1995 and 2005, the band put on some incredible shows, including the closing ceremony of the 2010 Winter Olympics and every Vans Warped Tour. They’ve also starred in the Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen film New York Minute and performed at the Mood Indigo music festival in Mumbai, India. The band worked to create the Simple Plan Foundation, which assists troubled teens.

Simple Plan’s Pierre and Chuck were featured in the most recent show, retelling the now-famous story of how their producer Arnold Lanni threw them out of the studio when they were recording their first album No Pads, No Helmets… Just Balls, after they did something he specifically forbade them to do. As an added bonus, the guys shared another story about how they handled the situation in a way that got them reprimanded – this time by their own management.
The results of the recently featured online poll, which asked music fans to vote for the best pop-punk song, have been slowly revealed by the British magazine Rock Sound over the last few days. Over 26 000 people voted to determine the final positions on the chart, revealing that the public chose not one, but two Simple Plan albums among the 100 Best Pop-Punk Albums!
Their debut album, ‘No Pads, No Helmets… All Balls,’ ranks 31st on the chart, surpassing classics like Jimmy Eat World’s ‘Bleed American,’ The All-American Rejects’ ‘Move Along,’ and The Offspring’s ‘Americana’!
