Galaxy s7: how to adjust screen timeout & lock screen

Create a display that is always visible. Samsung’s Always On Display is a new feature that displays you important details on your Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge screen without having to wake it up, such as the time, alerts, and upcoming appointments. Checking the time or your calendar is as simple as glancing at your phone this way. Here’s how to make Always On Display work for you. 1. To access the alerts drawer, swipe down from the top of the home page. 2. On the top right, tap the Settings button. 3. Pick Display from the drop-down menu. 4. Choose Always On Display from the drop-down menu. 5. Turn the function on by swiping the top toggle to the right. 6. Select Content To Display from the drop-down menu to customize what appears on your phone’s screen when it is locked. 7. Choose between a clock, a calendar, or a picture. 8. Below the Content To Display area, select Clock Style, Calendar Style, or Picture. Depending on what you want to show, this choice will be different. 9. Choose your favorite style from the available choices. There are seven clock types, two calendar choices, and three photos to choose from at the moment. If you want to use a clock, you can also change the background image on the screen to one of five options.

That isn’t to say there isn’t something you’d like to alter. You may prefer a different screen backdrop. Maybe you don’t like the way the alerts look. Perhaps you despise receiving updates.
The screen background is one of the first things that many people customize on their phones. On the Galaxy S7, you can customize the Lock and Home screens with different backgrounds. You can either use one of the pre-selected wallpaper images or a picture of your own as the backdrop.
Make sure there’s enough contrast between the backdrop and the foreground icons and text when selecting background images and colors. Don’t let a cool-looking backdrop overshadow readability.
Many of us like to use personal photos as background wallpaper on our phones, such as those of our partners, children, or grandchildren. As you’ve just discovered, choosing a background photo is simple as long as the photo is already saved on your phone in the Gallery. So, if you have a photo you want to use, make sure you save it first to the Gallery.

How to set “always on display” on your samsung galaxy s7

Always On Display (AOD) is a smartphone feature that displays limited information even when the screen is turned off. It’s available on a lot of Android phones. Depending on how it’s implemented and behaves, the function is referred to as Ambient Display or Active Display on certain Android phones. It may be a substitute for or a supplement to the Notification LED, depending on the phone’s nature.
During sleep mode, a phone with AOD enabled holds a small portion of the screen on. An Always On Display displays the time, date, and battery status by default, but can be programmed to show different types of alerts when they arrive or screensavers instead of the notification LED blinking to act as an indication for any incoming messages or notifications that the user may need to check out.
This function behaves differently on all existing Android phones. When alerts arrive, several phones momentarily toggle on the Ambient monitor before turning off the button. The screen is switched off to conserve battery in some versions, but it comes on when updates arrive and stays on as long as they are not ignored or read. Not all apps may be supported for displaying notifications with this feature, depending on whether the vendor supports it – only first-party or common apps may be supported, or all third-party apps may be supported but must be specifically allowed.
