Link the blue serial cable [also known as a console cable] that came with your Cisco router to the router’s console port and your computer’s serial port. Open your favorite terminal software (such as HyperTerminal – select “Direct to COMx”). 9600 baud, 8 data bits, no parity, 1 stop bit, and hardware flow control are the right terminal settings. You can also set the line delay to 100ms (File/Properties/Settings/ASCII Setup) for reliability.
Switch off the router if it’s on. Now it’s time to turn on the router. It’s worth noting that the router takes about two minutes to boot up. Tell no if the router asks you to run the configuration wizard. If you’re asked if you want to continue, press return a couple of times. Return a few times if you don’t get anything after 30 seconds of turning on the router. Check your serial connections and parameters if you’re still getting nothing.
To clear the router’s configuration, click “y.” Then type the commands mentioned below. It’s worth remembering that the router does not prompt you to save the current configuration. If it does, be sure to say no because we’re attempting to wipe the configuration.

I recently had some internet issues and had to reset my router as a result. I called them when I still couldn’t get it to work, and that’s when they did this. I used to be able to access the router menu, and when I told them about it, they said I was never supposed to be able to, that they might have forgotten to change the username and password when setting up my link, and so they changed it this time.
My router is a Huawei 8546m. For some reason, I recently reset my router, but when I tried to log in, I couldn’t because my default gateway ip was missing. I tried everything I could find on the internet but couldn’t get it to work until an isp representative came to my house and magically fixed it (the ip changed from what it was before though). They won’t tell me how he did it, so will anyone tell me how he did it?

The Perl script below extracts confidential information from configuration files, such as passwords and SNMP group strings. The script’s only command-line argument is the name of the file containing the router’s configuration.
This script removes confidential data from router configuration files. The resulting “stripped” configuration files can be securely stored or forwarded to others, such as suppliers, partners, or colleagues. Recipe 3.5 demonstrates how simple the default password-encryption method is, emphasizing the importance of stripping a configuration file like this.
Most environments do not need any changes to this script. Since the script outputs to the computer, you’ll need to redirect the standard output to a file if you want to save a copy of the “stripped” configuration file:
The allow secret password was encrypted using a strong method, MD5, which is extremely difficult to crack, as explained in previous recipes. However, in brute force attacks, an attacker routinely encrypts probable sequences of letters, numbers, and characters in the hopes of finding an encrypted match. While these attacks are time-consuming, there are a range of widely accessible software packages that can crack passwords efficiently. To conclude, it is preferable to be healthy than sorry.

We sometimes need to make adjustments to the configuration of a Globe router, such as modifying the wireless (WLAN) SSID or password. However, it is best to play it safe before making any configuration changes. Save the configuration of your Globe router to a file and use it to restore it if your router stops working.
Bear in mind that typing 192.168.254.254/public/public info page.asp in the browser will redirect you to the web page 192.168.254.254/public/public info page.asp. This is the router’s web configuration interface’s key landing page.
If the above-mentioned default admin password does not function, the router’s default admin password has been updated to a different value. If you don’t know the new password for the admin account, you’ll need to reset the router to factory defaults to restore the password to its original meaning.
The configuration file for the Globe router is called hw ctree.xml. If you want to poke around with the config file, you should be able to open it with any text editor because XML files are encoded in plain text.
