Redditors, take note: A data breach occurred between June 14 and June 18, according to Reddit. The famous website claims to have discovered the intrusion on June 19 and has taken steps to contain and remove the threat since then. Unfortunately, they won’t be able to do anything with the data that was hacked and compromised — your user information. To its credit, Reddit has maintained a high level of accountability, outlining key places where they believe user data has been compromised. The good news is that this security breach did not affect anyone. However, you’ll have to go through a few measures to decide whether or not you were.
After 2007, there was no email connected with Reddit. Unwind. Users can put their minds at ease right away as long as their Reddit accounts aren’t linked to email addresses on accounts created after 2007 (more on that below). To summarize, the hackers did not have access to user data on accounts without associated email addresses, according to Reddit.
1: All Reddit Data Prior to 2007
This is where the year your account was created matters. Users who signed up between the site’s launch in 2005 and May 2007 may have had their information captured in an old backup of the site. Account credentials (usernames and salted hashed passwords), email addresses, and all content posted during that time span, both public and private, are all included. If you joined Reddit in 2007 or earlier, keep an eye out for a direct message from the company — the company is privately contacting all impacted users, so open any new messages as soon as possible.

150k+ accounts hacked! real life genshin park! news

The hack took place on Friday, and the perpetrators gained access to the accounts of moderators of prominent subreddits with millions of subscribers, including r/space, r/food, r/Japan, r/nfl, r/cfb, and r/podcasts.
In both English and simplified Chinese text, the hackers posted pro-Trump messages. In one case (shown), the Chinese text inquired if former President Barack Obama was a Kenyan, a reference to so-called “birther” conspiracy theories, as well as a nod to YouTuber David Pakman.
It’s unclear how the accounts were hacked, but Reddit said it was looking into it. Reddit did mention in a help thread that the administrators of the hacked subreddits were not using two-factor authentication on their accounts. Users should search for signs of a compromise, such as an email notice that their password or email address on their account has been updated, according to the same thread.
According to Matthew Gardiner, principal security strategist at cloud cybersecurity company Mimecast Ltd., it’s becoming increasingly clear that everybody in these social networks must follow the “zero-trust” paradigm, which means they must not believe something is real unless they can independently check it.

Genshin impact hacking problem. just got way

The Reddit hack comes after Reddit removed r/The Donald, a Trump-supporting channel, in late June. After receiving complaints of abuse, bullying, and threats of violence, Reddit agreed to ban the channel for breaching its community guidelines. Today’s stunt is identical to one that happened at the end of June and the beginning of July, when over 1,800 Roblox accounts were compromised and defaced with a pro-Trump reelection post.

What actually happened that day? [reddit review #7

So I signed into my account and discovered that I had been temporarily suspended due to unusual behavior. I didn’t take it seriously and assumed it was some kind of error. But then I reviewed my alerts, and there were two that caught my eye: “Your account has been permanently disabled for violating the law.” and “In view of recent reports of Internet security breaches, we’re requiring some of our users to reset their passwords.” Now, I had already changed my password, but when I checked my account activity tab, I discovered this mess. (The first censored one is me, and the other two are in my place, so I’m not sure if it’s me but with a different IP or not, but I still censored them.)So, my question is, what did the person who hacked me do to get my account permanently blocked, and how can I make sure they still have access to it? savehidereport100%commentssharesavehidereport Voted up This discussion has been closed.
