Quarkxpress 2019 – preview of the week – flex layouts

In a WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) world, QuarkXPress is a desktop publishing program for designing and editing complex page layouts. It is compatible with both Mac OS X and Windows. It was first released in 1987 by Quark, Inc., and the company still owns and publishes it.
QuarkXPress 2019 (internal version number 15.0) supports publishing in English (“International and US.”)[1] as well as 36 other languages, including Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Portuguese, German, Korean, Russian, French, and Spanish.
Individual designers, major publishing houses, and companies use QuarkXPress to develop a wide range of formats, from single-page flyers to multi-media projects for magazines, newspapers, catalogs, and other publications. Ebooks, Web, and smartphone apps are also included in newer versions.
QuarkXPress released XTensions, an application programming interface that enables third-party developers to build custom add-on functions for the desktop application, in 1989. Xtensions was one of the first examples of a developer allowing others to build software add-ons for their application, alongside Adobe’s Photoshop plugins.
