There are a number of reasons why the PolyVision line will save money, including smoother installation, maintenance, and more versatile functionality (you don’t need both a conventional and an interactive whiteboard in the classroom). To use PolyVision’s Total Cost of Ownership software for your own research, click here.
PolyVision has a range of companion items, including a tablet that instructors or teachers can use to communicate with the board when traveling around the classroom. There’s also a “Walk-and-Talk” interactive panel that lets a teacher do all they can on the whiteboard from a portable interface, with the results shown on the whiteboard in front of the class – this works well from a podium, for example.
I’ll continue this series next week by looking at some other competitive items, with the intention of wrapping it up no later than the following week, when we determine which product we’ll bring into our school to work with.

Just because the other page was originally a redirect do you endorse merging. However, since SmartBoard is the only one of its kind that I’m aware of, it could merit its own section in this article— -E-Bod, 21 May 2006, 22:18 (UTC) -E-Bod, 17 April 2006, 22:50 (UTC)
Support the merger; SmartBoard is a brand name, not the only company that produces similar technology. The word “interactive whiteboard” is more generic and relevant. — 184.108.40.206 (talk • contribs) added the preceding unsigned comment at 11:33 on April 18, 2006.
With SmartBoard listed as a proprietary manufacturer, support merges under the common name “Interactive Whiteboard.” The word “SmartBoard” is a brand name, but it’s not a good generic term because the boards themselves aren’t smart – the software, handwriting recognition, and other features are usually provided by the laptop connected to the board. While all traditional whiteboards are already interactive – you can write on them and print from them, for example – “interactive” is a better term because it removes gimmicky terminology. The word “computerised whiteboard” is the most fitting because it captures the main differentiation from previous offerings (which only added a printer). —220.127.116.11 (talk • contribs) added the preceding unsigned comment at 20:55 on 3 May 2006.

Students with learning disabilities (LDs) can benefit greatly from assistive technology (AT), which can compensate for a student’s capacity deficiencies, needs, and/or impairment area(s). Finding the right match between the AT tool, the learning difficulties, and the task is crucial to successful AT.
Students with learning disabilities will almost often need assistive technology (AT) to support them with reading, language, interpersonal skills, and information processing. Computers, mobile technology (tablets, smartphones, iPods, and so on), advanced software systems, scanners, and interactive whiteboards are all examples of AT.
To learn more about AT, go to the [email protected] website and read “Assistive Technology for Students with Learning Disabilities: Information, Tools, and Resources for Teachers.”
The interactive whiteboard is one form of AT that is becoming increasingly common as an educational tool for educators who teach students with and without learning disabilities (IWB). An interactive whiteboard (IWB) is a presentation system that connects to a computer and displays computer images on a touch-sensitive screen, where they can be seen and manipulated. SMART Boards, MimioBoards, Polyvision IWBs, Epson’s BrightLink Pro, and the Promethean IWB are examples of commercially available IWBs. For various IWBs, various types of software and accessories are available.
