I’m not sure what you’re asking me to do, so remote logging has been turned on. Around 1500-1530 pacific, I turned on remote logging on my Roku 3. On my Roku stick 1555 Pacific, I allowed remote logging.

After a lot of banging my head against the wall, I discovered that all of my Roku devices’ allocated IP addresses were not pingable from the server, for reasons I don’t understand. I manually cleared my router’s dhcp assignments and assigned each of them a static IP address. All is now in working order. I’m really not sure what that was all about, but it succeeded.

Fix plex media server remote access issues

When the problem first arose, I restarted the server and re-booted the machine, but it made no difference. I just tried the web app again, and it works well. Nothing was altered, and I’m not sure why. As requested, the log file is attached.

This is at http://127.0.0.1:32400/web/index.html, which is clearly reachable; otherwise, how is it reacting with that message? Or does it need an external Internet link for some reason (my Internet is fine right now, but I recently had a week-long outage due to BT digging up the road outside and cutting off my phone line / net again)? Other Internet apps work great, and I haven’t modified anything on my router or firewalls.
Actually, the issue has been resolved, at least for the time being. It appears to be operating from other devices on my network now, but not from the server. I was getting the not reachable message both on my local machine and while attempting to access it from other computers the other day. Currently, it only occurs on the server. If you’re interested in seeing the log, it’s in my previous article, but I’m happy to report that my issue has been resolved.

How to fix plex media server unavailable error 2017

Although internet connectivity is at the core of the Plex Media Server experience, there are occasions when you can need to go without Plex (for example, during local outages or when vacationing away from stable internet access). Continue reading to learn how to tweak stuff (and why it’s important to do so before you need offline access).
One of the things people like best about Plex is how smooth the interface is—and how that streamlined experience is based around their Plex accounts, remote Plex central server access, and how that links all of their settings and user experience together. However, in order for that experience to function, your machine must contact Plex and authenticate. If it can’t, the whole machine comes to a stop.
Thankfully, there are two basic solutions: modifying the way Plex uses the authentication method and, in rare situations, using the DLNA system as a backup. To ensure you’re never left high and dry, we suggest setting up both, as mentioned in the sections below.

Fix plex accessing folders [grayed out] | freenas plex

I’m at a loss as to why Plex is refusing to accept the files on this hard drive. It shows the external drive as present, and Ubuntu displays the files and allows me to play, access, and manipulate them. Plex displays the word “External.”
When I press it, however, it is completely empty and there is nothing to add. On my Windows computers, I can access the files on the external drive via file sharing just fine, but I’d love to be able to use Plex for streaming with our Roku.
You must ensure that Plex has access to all files in the related directories now that it has access to the drive. This is accomplished by repeating the steps below for each of your media library folders:
PS: Plex has a good article on the topic, as @douggro said, but their site structure has changed, so it took me a while to find it from his post, so here’s a more current link to the page: Permissions Guide for Plex Linux
I’m not sure what’s going on, but the only thing that helped me with an ext4 drive was turning “Automatic Mount Options” off in the “Disks” app and changing “Mount Point” to “/mnt/foobar” instead of “/media/username/foobar.”
