In the late 1990s and early 2000s, P-Com Corporation was a maker of point-to-point and point-to-multipoint radios. Using fixed antennas and Asynchronous Transfer Mode technology, the company aimed to provide wireless local loop and bandwidth facilities to metropolitan and remote areas. The firm had offices in Campbell, California, Melbourne, Florida, the United Kingdom, and an active client base in Argentina at its height. In the late 1990s, the company had a $25 IPO; by the mid-2000s, it had devolved into a penny stock, and several waves of layoffs had decimated the workforce.
In the face of fierce competition for its millimeter-wave point-to-point products, the company shifted its attention to the license-free product line and the expertise it had gained from Cylink in 1998. In 2005, P-Com acquired rival Wave Wireless of Sarasota, FL, and restructured and rebranded itself Wave Wireless.
B&B Test Solutions was selected by Wave Wireless to produce all of their SpeedLAN wireless devices. B&B Test Solutions purchased Wave Wireless’ AirPro Gold “carrier class” wireless product line in November 2006. Wave Wireless, which appears to have ceased operations, sold all of the rights to the SpeedLAN product line to B&B Test Solutions in August 2007.

A P-test is a statistical tool for evaluating whether the null hypothesis, which states a generally held assertion about a population, is accurate. The goal is to test established reality by trying to disprove, or nullify it, despite the deceptive word null. The P-test will provide proof to either refute or refuse to reject (statistical jargon for “inconclusive”) a commonly held argument.
A p-value is the product of a P-test. The p-value is a heuristic for determining the smallest degree of significance at which the null hypothesis is rejected. A lower p-value suggests that the alternative hypothesis has more support and that the null hypothesis should be dismissed.
