Dear dbeato, I don’t want to mess with scripts until I’m sure what the problem is… There was no ping, no access, no nothing. It’s simply not connected to the internet. They were still using it in the morning yesterday, but they were unable to link to it at night. According to my knowledge, no network improvements were made, and they were all operational until yesterday.
You must put yourself in the shoes of the user while attempting to pinpoint the location of a network failure. So, if one of my users is having trouble connecting anywhere, I try the same thing on my computer or someone else’s to narrow down the issue. It’s most definitely a machine issue if I can communicate but the user can’t. If neither I nor the user can communicate (no ping, etc. ), either the remote site is down or something on our network is interfering with the link.
