Leadership is action, not position !

First and foremost, the task must be accomplished, but people must come first. Second, while everyone’s expectations are the same, everyone’s discipline is different. Third, although achieving balance is challenging, it is important to aim for it.
It’s easy to understand what I mean when I say “mission first, people second.” Despite the fact that the mission is our top priority, people make it happen. As a consequence, it is the duty of a leader to put people first, to represent them, rather than the other way around. I’m not saying that no personal sacrifices would be needed to complete the task. High work ethics, major successes, and, at times, sacrifices are predicted, on the contrary.
Second, standards must be adhered to. Standards are standards, regardless of personal beliefs; they are not difficult to uphold, and they are either met or not met. It is the obligation of a leader to correct members who fail to meet expectations.
While everyone’s expectations are the same, no one’s discipline is. Is there a history of wrongdoing, how has the member’s duty performance been, what solutions are available and how will they affect the member’s future, and what is the lowest degree of punishment that will remedy the behavior are all factors that must be considered. Other members may not be aware of all the conditions and factors at play, but they must be assured that discipline will be applied fairly and consistently.

This is a massive issue in healthcare since hospitals and healthcare firms excel at recruiting from within — they’ll promote a nurse, pharmacist, physical therapist, or technician who excels at their job but has never studied leadership. Someone who studies leadership and the abilities of leadership, communication, and team building is the distinction between a positional leader and a skilled leader. Positional leaders are just in it for the money, and you’re the one who hires paycheck staff. Professionals evolve into and out of their roles, resulting in a highly engaged workforce.

Regardless of where you are in life, you will eventually find yourself in a position of leadership, whether you like it or not. It may be at work, where you’re leading a committee or accepting a new management role, in a church community, a professional association, or even in a social environment. For many of us, it will be in our families, where we will play an important leadership role as parents.
Leadership is not about “place” or, for that matter, title, as the quote states. It’s just about taking initiative. It’s about how we are and what we do, how we treat others, how we make choices, how we listen to others, how we take responsibility for our actions and keep ourselves accountable; this is who we are. As leaders, we must recognize that our every move represents our character, dignity, and willingness to be noble, caring people.
Responsible leadership that adheres to and respects strong moral character and code of conduct as guiding principles, in my opinion, is unrivaled. We’ve seen the kinds of train wrecks that can happen when CEOs and people in leadership roles lose their credibility in recent years. Their incompetent and corrupt form of leadership resulted in not only the failure of their companies, but also a pathetic state of mistrust. Manipulating performance figures and earnings to try to boost stock performance, their inept and corrupt form of leadership resulted in not only the failure of their companies, but also a pathetic state of mistrust. Because of their selfishness and greed, the American business leader is widely distrusted.
