Kraken image optimizer
How to optimize image sizes on wordpress with kraken.io
Via Kraken Image Optimizer’s API, this plugin helps you to optimize and resize new and existing WordPress image uploads. The optimization modes of lossless and intelligent lossy are also endorsed. JPEG, PNG, and GIF are all supported file types (including animated). The maximum file size is 32 MB. Even while using Kraken.io’s lossy optimization, our system goes above and beyond to ensure high-quality performance every time. You can easily install the plugin and forget about it. Visit Kraken.io for more information, including extensive documentation, plans, and pricing.
The main image upload can be resized if desired, which is useful for preventing overly large measurements from being uploaded by users. In Kraken.io->Settings, you may set the maximum width and/or height.
When you use the resizing function to reduce the maximum dimensions of the main image, the resulting image is improved with advanced techniques to help avoid downsample artifacts and “haloing” and generate a clearer result.

“Kraken’s true strength lies in their “intelligent lossy” optimization. I use it on all of my pages and have never had to revert an image due to excessive quality degradation. Although I hope to see more advanced settings applied to the WordPress plugin in the future, it is currently a great solution.” – Connor
Go to the Kraken.io settings page once you’ve gotten your credentials from your WordPress admin. Then you can choose your optimization preferences and enter your API credentials. After you’ve finished this, press Save. It will simply say “config saved” and send you a reassuring green tick that your credentials are correct if all is in order. From inside Media Library, you can now begin optimizing pictures. Kraken.io will optimize every picture you upload from now on via any of the media upload screens on the fly.

My product images are well optimized, but Magento cached images are bad and larger (I’ve already cleared cache; it’s what Magento does to the optimized images that makes them larger). I tried Kraken.io’s plugin, but it uses a lot of resources and, for some reason, delays page load on the front end more than it’s worth because it auto-optimizes photos. Is there an alternative extension that will enable me to periodically optimize the cached images? I’d prefer Kraken’s API because I already have a (paid) account with them, but I don’t want something automated; I’d rather do it myself when the site isn’t busy to save server resources. Will it be possible to simply download the cached directory every now and then, optimize it, and re-upload it to the server?
The plugin compresses images well (try their compression engine at https://tinypng.com/), and it’s easy to use. Magento generates different image sizes in its cache directories when you open a product in your webshop. This extension will automatically compress these photos for you. Since it operates when generating cache, it will cause the page to load slowly if there are several items on the page; however, this only happens when the cache is created; otherwise, the website would run normally.
WordPress image optimization plugins compared – imagify
Graphic designers and photographers don’t usually optimize their final images for file size reduction when they output them. Caleb Lane, a WordPress security and optimization consultant, found that the picture sizes on our platform were very big (among other things he’ll help us fix). Erik Deckers is to thank for the introduction!
The inclusion of large images does not necessitate the use of large picture sizes. Picture compression will minimize the file size of an image by up to 90% while maintaining the image’s quality to the naked eye. Reducing the file size of an image can provide a number of benefits:
Look no further than Kraken, one of the best services on the internet, for a fast boost in your site’s load times! We had previously used Yahoo’s Smush.it service, but our large infographics were too large for their service, defeating the aim!
Kraken comes with a full web interface, a powerful API, and, luckily, a WordPress plugin! The plugin helps you to optimize images automatically as you upload them, as well as batch optimize images you’ve already loaded. The findings are incredible:
