I’ve had the same issue with my Inspiron 5567 for the past 2-3 months. I’m not sure when it started, but I’ve been experiencing sporadic internet disconnections while connected to my LAN for a while now, and I’ve been looking for solutions for the past two weeks. I tried resetting the modem and router, reconnecting cables, removing cables, bypassing my docking station, connecting directly to the modem (which seemed to help, but then the house had no wifi), upgrading the router firmware, rolling back the router firmware, and turning on wifi to “pick up the slack” when the LAN link fell.
Every 1 to 3 minutes, I’d find 3 to 5 second internet disconnections. In one minute, I experienced three brief disconnections. When web pages failed to load, I had to reload them regularly, which disrupted massive file downloads and connections to financial websites.

This was a complete success. The symptoms for me were that when connected to another device on my local network, the Windows Remote Desktop link would keep dropping. This is particularly aggravating because the cause (Energy Efficient Ethernet being enabled) is so bizarre. In reality, if it disconnects when live traffic is flowing through the adapter, it appears that the Energy Efficient Ethernet feature is disabled.

However, after a few seconds, the 192.168.1.56 address vanishes, and after a few more seconds, the inet6 address vanishes as well. When I press in the nm-applet, it asks for a password, but it tries to connect in the meantime.
