How to disable annoying popups, and alerts in avast

I’m also getting an Infection Detected message. And it appears every time I visit a new URL, or even several times while I’m simply reading your forum. It reads: Infections include: [Trj] JS:lframe-DHY URL: http://gntcdn.com/js f.php?… long and meaningless, as I am not and have never been to gntcdn.com, as far as I can say. gzip (gzip) (gzip) (gzip) (gzip) (g Many of these are obstructing screen real estate, which is a concern. It’s a hassle to have them return just as quickly as I can get rid of them. Can you assist me in getting rid of them? On a Powerbook Pro running OSX 10.7.5, I’m using Firefox 28.0. Thank you in advance for any assistance you can offer. Handicapped

Hello, I’m using Avast and it came across a URL that was flagged as a “threat,” which Avast Web Shield dutifully blocked. Great, it worked exactly as predicted and even better. It (the URL in question) is marked as a “blocked” URL in Avast’s shield log. Since the URL has been flagged as a hazard by Avast, Windows Browsers (supported by Avast) are unable to access it (I assume because Avast uses low-level Browser/Winsock hooks to block it). However, since the URL is part of an internal network, the “threat” raised by that “evil” URL is resolved and no longer exists, or the issue with that URL is resolved (host). I’ll need access to that URL once more. Of course, I know I can always set a WEB SHIELD EXCLUSION ENTRY to allow access to the URL again, but I’m reluctant to do so because the hazard (or a new one) might reappear at any moment, and making an exclusion exposes my system unnecessarily. So, how do you delete or clear Web Shield-detected URLs / pages, i.e., unique URLs specified in the Web Shield log, and thus get rid of Avast’s permanent block? This will remove Avast’s permanent ban, but since it is not on the EXCLUSION LIST, it (the URLs removed from the list) will still be subject to potential Web Shield scans by Avast, ensuring that Avast’s excellent security is preserved. Thank you so much. Glennavast, Glennavast, Glennavast, Glen Definitions 130207-1 Free Antivirus V 7.0.1474

How to prevent avast from blocking a program

The real-time shields are the most critical aspect of the software because they are constantly working to keep your machine safe from infection. They keep track of anything that happens on your computer, reviewing all programs and files in real time – that is, anytime a program is started or a file is opened or closed.
Normally, the real-time shields begin functioning as soon as your machine is turned on. The orange avast! icon in the bottom-right corner of your computer screen indicates that your real-time shields are active. Any of the shields can be switched off at any time, but this isn’t usually a good idea because it reduces your defense level. If any of the shields are disabled, a warning message will appear once you open the user interface, indicating that your device is not completely shielded (if one or more shields are disabled) or “Unsecured” (if all the shields are turned off).
