How to redirect a domain without hosting
Domain forwarding from one domain to other domain without
Transferring your website to a new domain can be a challenging, but important, job. You should consider your SEO when moving your site, whether it’s for a rebrand, consolidation, or simply because you’ve found a better domain.
My colleague Nick and I are currently working on a video blog that covers the various reasons why you may want to switch domains. I’ll connect to it once it’s online, but in the meantime, I’m going to assume you’re just swapping domains and not modifying your website architecture (sitemap, URLs, etc.).
Any of the above choices is appropriate, but you must ensure that you will continue to host both domains after the site is launched on the new domain. In order for redirects to be transferred into the new domain, your old domain would need to host a tiny ‘.htaccess file.’
I should emphasize that I’m assuming you’re just modifying your domain, so your sitemap and individual URLs will stay unchanged. Individual spec-specific requests can be specifically matched and redirected to the same page at the new domain, as seen in my diagram above. You can do this dynamically using the.htaccess example below, rather than having to write a 301 redirect line of code for each individual page:

You don’t need to do something on your end to compel your site to use the safe URL. However, in some cases, creating your own custom configuration file to force the redirect from HTTP to HTTPS might be appropriate.
Redirecting your site is as simple as changing your DNS. This means that before you can see the changes online, the DNS must propagate first. This shouldn’t take more than 6 hours in general. This site helps you to keep track of when new DNS records are updated in various locations.

Let’s say you own a domain but don’t want to pay for hosting, or you want to park your domain until you find out where to get hosting. To put it another way, you want visitors to your domain to be routed to another domain. Using a service called Cloudflare, this is easy to accomplish. If you’re unsure how to redirect a domain without hosting, simply follow the steps below:
To change your name-servers, all you have to do is contact support. It’s critical to understand and note that DNS propagation can take up to 24 hours during this process. Simply update the nameservers and wait a day or two before testing again.

Your domain can be connected to an external web service, a social media profile, an online store, or a blog. After that, the content will appear under your internet address (domain mapping).
