How to speed up at&t u-verse internet

Thank you for your prompt answer! Since my husband has it fixed to the wall and it’s difficult to get down, I can’t get the hardware details. The Firmware Update is 2.11NA, which was copied from the device’s status page on July 18, 2013. In terms of location, I reside in Northeast Ohio.
According to this connection, the NVG510 can be bridged. https://forums.att.com/t5/Third-Party-Devices/NVG510-not-bridgeable-no-2210-offered-anymore/m-p/3470303#M9776 http://forums.att.com/t5/Third-Party-Devices/NVG510-not-bridgeable-no-2210-offered-anymore I’ll experiment with the options you provided. Thank you very much!
If your modem can’t be completely bridged, you’ll need to contact your ISP or someone from that forum for assistance with your modem and bringing the DIR-655 into the DMZ of the ISP modem. Once the DIR-655 is configured with the ISP modem, you should be able to set up blocking and parental controls on the 655 router as long as your computers are connected to the 655 rather than the ISP modem.
On the 655, your LAN pool address appears to be:
LAN (Local Area Network)
192.168.2.254 is the IP address.
IP Address 108.233.230.161 is the 655’s WAN address.
And this is your Uverse address:
Invention DHCPv4 Netmask 255.255.255.0DHCPv4 IPv4 Address 192.168.1.254 End Address 192.168.1.1DHCPv4 Start Address 192.168.1.1DHCPv4 You should be able to connect to the internet. What is the IP address that the DIR-655’s Uverse modem lists, and is that IP address in the DIR-655’s DMZ? The 655 should be receiving a 192.168.1.### on its WAN port, but the WAN address on the 655 appears to be public, suggesting that the Uverse is going through the desired address. When your PC is connected to the 655 router, what is the IP address it receives? Isn’t it supposed to be 192.168.2.###?

Sorry, but this isn’t going to work. I’m unable to reach the console page because I’m blocked – it’s a catch-22 situation. Could anyone please clarify how to fix this in plain English? I purchased it because it was supposed to be easy to put together. Since I am not an IT expert, I need measures written in plain English rather than jargon. Thank you.
What is the manufacturer and model number of the ISP modem to which the NG router is connected? Is there, by chance, a built-in router here? Sorry, but this does not work, wrote @JennaJ. Technology advancements—and access to the technology—have forever altered how we communicate with the planet. However, since the internet has become so widely open, it is also widely accessible to your children, which is why we developed a guide for parents on internet protection, child safety, and best practices.
It’s a good idea to use age-appropriate language when communicating with your child so that they understand the value of online protection. You may want to use a parental control or filter to prevent such content from being available on your device to further protect your children (more on that later).
Teach your child how to recognize the signs of online bullying and abusers, as well as where abuse is most common: chat rooms, text messages, websites, gaming centers, and emails.
Before your child answers, have them inform you if they are having any of the following. You must make it clear that they will not face any consequences for telling you. Children hide knowledge from their parents for a number of reasons, like fear of repercussions or embarrassment.
