My mouse is a Logitech M500. This mouse has a mechanical mousewheel (the “ticking” kind) that can be scrolled horizontally by clicking from the sides. The best part is that this approach works almost everywhere… It doesn’t fit in my browser, in Notepad++, and in standard ol’ Explorer file browser windows, which is almost definitely related. Since I use Complete Commander, it’s not a problem. However, the horizontal scrolling feature works in Internet Explorer 10, which I find strange (the same company is behind Explorer and Internet Explorer).
I didn’t install any drivers when I first got the mouse. I simply connected the mouse and let Windows search for and install suitable drivers on its own. And, because it looks great in the browser and in my code editor, I thought the horizontal would be a good fit.
Every program I’ve used allows me to scroll vertically by spinning the mouse wheel, and I can also scroll horizontally by holding shift and spinning the mouse wheel… This feature is totally missing from Excel 2013 – so if you know how to make it work, please let me know.

With a simple spin of the wheel, you can quickly navigate through long documents or web pages.

1 Push the wheel to turn to click-to-click scrolling when you need more precision. When browsing lists, slides, and pictures, click-to-click scrolling gives you the precision you need.
It’s clever to get the ultimate scrolling wheel! This speed-adaptive scroll wheel automatically switches from click-to-click to hyperfast scrolling, allowing you to seamlessly switch between precision work and quick document navigation. In speed mode, our hyperfast wheels will go up to 1000 lines per second.
This revolutionary secondary wheel helps you to access web pages or monitor volume with a flick of your thumb. This additional scroll wheel, which is included with our flagship mouse, the MX Master 2s, can be modified to perform a range of useful functions — whatever best suits your needs.
Extra thumb buttons on some of our mice can be personalized to add your favorite shortcuts. For example, you can easily navigate back and forth between web pages with your thumb without having to move your cursor.
Media composer – scroll horizontally with the mouse wheel
Hello there, guys. I’m searching for a replacement for my magic mouse. I like it a lot, but it’s a little too low-profile for me, and I think I’d prefer anything with different physical buttons for work. I use a lot of software for photography, audio, and production. I’ve discovered that side scrolling is a must-have feature for me, and I’m shocked that not all mice have it. I’d like it to be white or gray and wireless, but it doesn’t matter as much if it meets any of the other criteria. In ascending order of importance: If you have any suggestions? I’m thinking of getting a wireless trackpad for scrolling if there aren’t any other suggestions. That could be interesting. Davinci resolve how to do horizontal scrolling with mouse
I figured it would be cool to have a horizontal scroll wheel on my HP mouse to stop those tiny scrollbars, but it turns out it’s already there. In Cubase, you can scroll horizontally by holding down the mouse wheel and pushing the mouse left or right. However, it’s likely that everybody already knew about this.
I wish the mix console had something close to this. It’s so inconvenient to have to drag the horizontal bar, and I don’t like the Shift+Scroll thing because it makes me feel like I could accidentally transfer anything.
