Toon Boom Animation launched Toon Boom Studio 4.5 and Flip Boom Classic on Friday. Until July 31, 2008, Toon Boom Studio is $329.99. Flip Boom Classic, a new and improved version of Flip Boom, is the second product. You can use this app to create a flip book of your drawings, set up your animation within the new camera frame, layer your drawings on top of each other, and publish your animation directly to your iPod. Flip Boom Classic costs $39.99, with an upgrade costing $9.99.
Introduction to flip boom all-star
From top to bottom, we considered Flip Boom’s interface to be a good design. It has the same layout as a children’s drawing kit, but it has a more advanced range of tools for making animated digital video. Flip Boom can also save animations for viewing on an iPod, Windows Media Player, or the internet. Its online tutorial provides a step-by-step walkthrough of the process, which provided us with all of the information we needed to make a cartoon. A wide range of colors and other choices are available throughout the software. The ability to create different “Frames” that can then be combined to form a cartoon is particularly noteworthy. The actual drawing of the frames is a quick process that feels very close to using Windows Paint. Flip Boom, unfortunately, only has one drawing tool, which we believe is a significant flaw. We would have liked to be able to use a range of brushes and have more control over the editing process. Regardless, we easily shuffled our frames and drew a crude cartoon. We liked everything about this program except for the lack of choices.
