How to encrypt and digitally sign email message in outlook

In this blog post, we’ll walk you through the process of configuring Office Message Encryption step by step. They aren’t for the faint of heart, I must admit! Enabling OME is much more complicated than configuring DKIM, DMARC, and SPF, or other Microsoft email security products like Office 365 ATP, Exchange Online Defense, or DKIM, DMARC, and SPF.
Office Message Encryption (OME) enables the company to send and receive encrypted messages to and from individuals outside of your company. Encryption ensures that only the people you want to see the personal details in your messages will see it.
Follow these steps if your company uses multi-factor authentication (MFA) to link to Exchange Online PowerShell:
To connect to MFA, you must first install the Exchange Online Remote PowerShell Module and then use the Connect-EXOPSSession cmdlet.
If the recipient of an OME-encrypted message does not use Outlook, regardless of the account used, the recipient will receive a limited-time web-view connection that will enable them to read the message. A one-time passcode is included. You can monitor whether or not one-time passcodes can be used to log in to the OME portal as an administrator.

Office 365 essentials: office message encryption

In any company, encryption and digital certificates are crucial considerations. By default, Exchange Server encrypts correspondence between internal Exchange servers and between Exchange services on the local server using Transport Layer Security (TLS). Exchange administrators must, however, consider their security criteria for internal and external clients (computers and mobile devices), as well as external messaging servers.
Significant updates in Exchange Server 2019 boost the security of client and server connections. The default encryption configuration only supports TLS 1.2 and disables support for older algorithms (namely, DES, 3DES, RC2, RC4 and MD5). It will also choose elliptic curve key exchange algorithms over non-elliptic curve key exchange algorithms.
