How to configure vpn and dynamic ddns

We must first create a portforwarding roule on ISP Router A before we can create a Site to Site VPN tunnel. So, why don’t we have a portforwarding rule for ISP Router B? Since Site B lacks dynDNS, UTM A is unable to create a tunnel to UTM B because it lacks knowledge of Router B’s actual WAN IP. Only UTM B has the ability to create a VPN tunnel to Site A.
In this case, I’m using an AVM router, which is commonly used in Germany. “Exposed Host” is a function on the router. This is a portforwarding rule that directs all incoming traffic to the configured host from all ports. Except for ports used by the router’s own services and planned answer packets from other clients in the transfer LAN (10.192.178.0/24) that are managed by the router’s stateful inspection firewall.
We must use dynDNS because we are in the unthinkable situation of having no set WAN IP addresses. The ISP Router or the UTM may also use a dynDNS service. In my case, I used the dynDNS service provided by my UTM and the German Strato AG as a dynDNS provider.

They have free domain names, and you download and run a client on your server to keep your IP addresses current.

Yeah, no-ip is great and it’s free (but it’s a pain to remember to log in once a month to renew it with the free version), so I just paid them a small fee and no longer have to remember to renew it once a month.
Some firewalls support dynamic DNS services natively, but mine (Cisco ASA) doesn’t, so I use a Raspberry Pi to keep the IP up to date (rather than running a big machine all the time), and it also does a lot of other things for me (like MRTG graphs of single power, link quality, and traffic on a point to point wireless link), and I’m still coming up with new uses for it. Except when there is a power outage, my dynamic IP never changes. VPN access to my home network is essential and convenient for me because it is also where my home VoIP system is located. It’s far too easy to be able to hack your home phone and surveillance cameras from anywhere in the world.

Clients (such as the Android OpenVPN client) would be unable to connect to the VPN server while within the internal network if this is not done (while it will work from outside). Following that, the client will bind to the VPN server from both within and outside your local network.
/etc/ddclient.conf is the location of this configuration file. Apt most likely asked you some questions and created a useful config file during the installation process. The following is an example of a configuration file:
We’ll show you how to use the German Internet hosting provider Strato to set up ddclient in the following section. You must first establish a subdomain. Then, for this domain, allow DnyDNS by replacing strato-login-name with your Strato login name (most likely your domain name, such as maxmustermann.de), password1234 with the password you configured above (see the third screenshot), and meine.domain.de with the subdomain you built and activated dynamic DNS for.

On my Orbi Wi-Fi router, I’d like to set up a VPN. It necessitates that I use DDNS. When I try to do so, I’m told that I’ll need to have a User Name and Password, as well as the alert that “your access to this site is not private.” Why would I send my Orbi admin password to an unknown dialog box warning me that my connection isn’t secure?
When a link to a computer is insecure, newer browser versions (such as Chrome and Firefox) display alerts – either alongside the input field or as part of the URL on top of the browser. It’s insecure if it’s not https and has a legitimate certificate that matches the URL.
To be clear, DDNS is not necessary to use VPN. If you knew your WAN IP address, you could use it to connect to your router. The WAN IP, on the other hand, can be difficult to recall. Furthermore, most home routers are assigned a dynamic WAN IP address via DHCP, which can alter without your knowledge. As a result, DDNS is often used to map a domain name, such as jagdriver.com, to your constantly changing WAN IP address.
