Asus dsl ac68u dual band wireless ac1900 vdsl adsl

Asus has built cloud functionality into its router, dubbed “AiCloud 2.0” by the company. Cloud Disk will enable Internet-connected devices to access USB storage attached to the modem/router, Smart Access will allow remote access to SMB networked PCs, and Smart Sync will synchronize USB storage with Asus’ own webstorage product.
The USB interface has a lot of features, including printer support, storage access via FTP and SMB, iTunes, Time Machine, and DLNA connectivity, and 3G/4G modem support, including tethered Android phones.
The maximum wireless speed was determined using iPerf and firmware 3.0.0.4.376_2072, in three locations: the next room, immediately upstairs with some furniture in the way, and one room away from immediately upstairs.
As a representative of average performance, an Asus G550 laptop with a 2×2 Intel AC7260 wireless card was used. Each WLAN is configured to use WPA2 personal encryption and a clear channel. The maximum channel bandwidth is used wherever possible, which is either 40 or 80MHz depending on the wireless norm. Only 802.11n or 802.11AC is used as a transmission standard when it is necessary.

Asus router dsl ac68u set up for spark/ vodafone fibre

Because of the rapid adoption of the 802.11ac standard by high-end mobile devices, high-performance routers are needed to service the additional capacity. After all, what good is an AC-capable laptop, such as a high-end smartphone, tablet, or ultrabook, if the router can only provide N speeds? That’s where the ASUS DSL-AC68U router, today’s showpiece, comes in.
Those with a sharp memory will recall that we reviewed the ASUS RT-AC68U late last year, and the DSL version is essentially the same router with one major difference: it includes a full-featured ADSL(2+) and VDSL modem. For readers in the United Kingdom, this means ditching BT modem boxes in favor of an all-in-one solution. Apart from that, it maintains the same core specifications as its predecessor, despite being superseded by the somewhat monstrous RT-AC87U.
With TurboQAM acceleration, the DSL-AC68U can achieve up to 1.3Gbps on the 5GHz AC band and 600Mbps on the 2.4GHz N band using three external antennae. Four gigabit LAN ports are available for wired devices, and a USB 3.0 port on the router allows USB flash drives and hard drives to be plugged in for easy file sharing. The USB port can also be used to share a 3/4G signal from a dongle, which is unusual.
