Hello there, everybody! First and foremost, I’d like to state that I’ve been using this platform to assist me for many years and have found it to be extremely helpful. I’ve posted this in the Windows 7 forum because it seems to be an issue exclusive to this operating system. Please accept my apology if it belongs somewhere else.
I first found it after a few days of losing connection to online games at random. I just chalked it up to a bad server or my ISP dropping my connection, but no other Internet devices in my house seemed to be affected.
It has recurred several times since then, but the trend is in no way predictable. It may take up to a week, but I haven’t been gaming as much lately, so it’s probably less noticeable when browsing. I’ll usually be searching when I note the page isn’t loading, and then I’ll see the yellow exclamation mark. I usually just leave it for 30 seconds or so and it takes care of itself. It didn’t work on one occasion, but disabling and activating the network adapter fixed the issue.
I reviewed the event viewer and there are multiple DNS Client Events 1014 errors dating back to when the system was installed. I only recently realized this, but I can relate a few of the dates and times to times when I was without internet.
