Discord messages disabled
How to turn off discord notifications
Members of a server will send a message to be read aloud to other server members in a channel using the Text-to-Speech (TTS) command in Discord, /tts. While this command has its uses, it’s also a convenient target for trolls. Anyone who has seen Twitch streamers who use text-to-speech knows how disastrous this can be. Fortunately, Discord helps you to switch off TTS for yourself or an entire server – here’s how to do it.
Discord can no longer play any messages sent with the /tts command if this setting is disabled. Only your client is impacted by this environment. Continue on to the section below if you want to disable TTS for an entire server.
Select the @everyone role, then scroll down the page to the Text Permissions section. To disable Send TTS Messages, click the switch to the right of it in this section.
How to disable dm’s on discord mobile
Competing with your mates in CS:GO or Apex Legends is more enjoyable if everyone uses the same instant messaging platform. Having a forum to mess around on, talk in general, and stream gameplay for friends is an important part of the game for many people. If you’re a big fan of video games, you’ve definitely used Discord, which has become the go-to chat platform for gamers over the years. Some games and gaming sites have their own Discord servers where players can find teammates, connect with tech help, or simply chat.
Scammers, spammers, and trolls, as you would imagine, are attracted to large groups almost as often as people who share a mutual interest. And if you don’t take care of your privacy and security settings before you start playing or talking on Discord, they can spoil the fun. Here’s how to properly set up the messaging service.
First and foremost, let’s talk about account security. Set a new password if you have an easy one — ideally one that is really long (not sure how?). Numbers, a combination of capital and lowercase letters, and special characters all aid, but the most important factor is length.
Sending a message to someone who’s not your friend in
Discord is a browser, desktop (through an embedded browser system), Android, and iOS chat program. It has a robust notification system that allows you to customize how you’re notified for all messages, @mentions, and @everyones for each channel on each server you’re connected to. It also allows you to customize notification settings for mobile and desktop. Email updates are also used in Discord.
All desktop popup notifications are disabled when “Enable Desktop Notifications” is turned off. These alerts make use of the browser/OS notification system, which displays a preview of the message as well as the sender. Discord will use the more specific notification settings to determine whether or not to send a notification when it is enabled.
In the browser edition, “Enabled Taskbar Flashing” does not appear. It determines whether or not the discord taskbar icon flashes when a new message arrives, regardless of whether or not a sample message appears via the notification system in the desktop version. If you allow this but not “Enable Desktop Notifications,” for example, you will never see a popup notification for a post, but the taskbar icon will still flash.
How to turn off/disable dm – direct messages & friend
Discord is a free voice, video, and text chatting app for people aged 13 and up. It was developed to put people who enjoy gaming together. Users who are playing the same game will often create Discord groups to interact with one another during live gameplay. Discord can be accessed via device, web browser, or mobile phone by teenagers. They can either enter a chat that has been invited to them or build private servers and invite their friends to play and discuss games through voice, text, or video. They can also communicate with each other individually or in groups of up to ten mates.
How to Block Content That Isn’t Appropriate
Discord allows you to create an explicit content filter that will detect and remove images and uploads that contain explicit or inappropriate content.
Parents and caregivers should strongly consider a monitoring solution to evaluate the content their children experience (and produce) through text messages, social media, email, and more, in addition to setting parental controls on their child’s computer.
