Utorrent – how to fix no incoming connection

I’m running Deluge 1.3.11 on Windows 7 Enterprise x64 and using a MiFi device to connect to the Internet. Deluge opens up with the Torrent in a “Paused” state every time I click a Magnet connection in my browser, and it never actually starts downloading. When I press the “Test Active Port” button in the Deluge Network settings, an orange triangle with an exclamation mark appears. When I hover my mouse over the mark, nothing appears, so I presume the test failed. I’ve tried manually accessing different ports and “Applying,” but it still doesn’t work. There was no entry for Deluge in Windows Firewall when I installed it (not sure why), so I manually added two entries (for TCP & UDP on all ports). This was ineffective. I have ESET Smart Security 8, so I disabled the ESET firewall absolutely, but it made no difference. What could possibly have caused Deluge to fail the tests? QBittorrent is installed and working well (and created its own Windows Firewall entries). Thank you so much.
Is it possible that my test would also fail? and demonstrates the triangle. My downloads, on the other hand, are flawless. If you have an issue, the lower toolbar should say “No incoming connections.” On most clients, the status of Paused is the same as halted. You may have the choice “add new torrents in the paused state” selected. Have you tried selecting the torrent in question and clicking the right-pointing arrow to initiate it?

Hello there, everybody. I don’t normally post on forums because I usually figure things out on my own…but not this time. I’ve spent two days scouring the internet and have come up with nothing, so here goes.
I’ve been using Ubuntu 9.10 for two months now, and all is working fine except that I can’t open any ports to use a bit torrent client. I’ve been using torrents for years on various Windows operating systems, so I’m familiar with the entire operation, including opening ports on the router, configuring firewalls, torrent client settings, static ip addresses, and so on. I’ve even tried using Upnp, and while I can see that the torrent client sends a request on the correct port, the “Check Port” option still returns “not available.” I’ve also tried and the shields-up site, all of which tell me that both of the ports are closed.
My router’s firmware has been revised, but nothing has changed. I even tried a hard link to only the modem (i.e., not connected to my wireless router at all) and no ports were visible. I just ran a virus scan with clamtk and found that I’m virus-free.

When I press “Test Active Port” under Network>Incoming Ports, an exclamation point appears. UPnP and random port are activated, and torrents appear to be downloading. However, I’m worried that if I get an exclamation, I won’t be able to seed properly. My FIOS Actiontec router has a long list of entries for Deluge under firewall settings>port forwarding, like this: Deluge 1.3.12 57931 -> Any Some -> 57931 Deluge 1.3.12 Isn’t it true that the router should already be letting it through? Maybe I’m not reading this correctly because I’m not familiar with port forwarding. What do I need to do to resolve the exclamation point problem? EDIT: Hmm, I think I’ve found something. I typically run peerblock, so I closed it and ran “Test Active Port” again, and this time I got the green! So I turned on Peerblock, and the test now gives me an exclamation point. Does this imply that Peerblock is interfering with my ability to connect? I understand it’s meant to block specific IP addresses, but it shouldn’t be affecting my ability to communicate, right?

The port can be defined in the Deluge preferences. I modified the port information in the boxes and applied it, but the “Active Port” number remains the same. When I test the active port, I get a yellow triangle exclamation point indicating that it failed. What’s the deal with the active port not updating? Since I’m using a VPN, it wouldn’t be able to find any connections if it was listening on the wrong port. The customer, on the other hand, seems to be making connections without difficulty. The ports appear to be configured correctly; however, the test port button and claimed active port are incorrect. This is a screenshot.
