Dell inspiron chromebook 11 (3181) review

The Dell Chromebook 3189 is a bit bulkier and heavier than anticipated for an 11-inch Chromebook. It’s 0.82 inches tall, has a 12×8.2 inch footprint, and weights 3.2 pounds. The good news is that the added weight offers greater rigidity and defense. The top lid has a gleaming, scratch-resistant coating on the exterior. A Chrome emblem on the left and a tiny LED stripe on the right adorn the top corners. The latter is the Dell Activity Light, a screen warning that students may use to inform their teachers when they’re ready, have a question, or need assistance. A full-size keyboard with Chiclet-style keys sits opposite the monitor, with a large touchpad placed in the center below it. Both the keys and the touchpad are spill-proof on the inside, which helps to secure the device even more. It has two first-generation USB 3.1 ports with Type-A connectors, a full-size HDMI port, a MicroSD memory-card reader, a hybrid headset/microphone jack, and a 65-watt power adapter port for connectivity. The Chromebook 3189 supports 802.11ac Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.2 for wireless networking. The Chromebook 11 is most likely the best laptop for schools and students in general. It comes with all of the essential features at a very low cost.

This Chromebook was purchased on January 7, 2018. It had served its function until this evening. Unfortunately, my son dropped it on the floor by mistake (about a 2-foot drop). Despite the fact that the screen seemed to be in good condition, blue/purple pixels appeared at the bottom of the screen shortly after, accompanied by bright purple streaks. I immediately contacted Dell’s Tech Support, where I discovered that the “one-year warranty” is actually only nine months long and excludes “accidental harm.” I recognize that the product was affected by us. What I don’t understand is why Dell brags about having “Drop Security” when it obviously doesn’t. “Who told you THAT?!?” she chuckled when I told her about the “kid-proof” Chromebook with “Drop Safety.” She then assured me that all was well because the device was still operational. She will not, however, “troubleshoot” the pixel issue without charging a fee. This is a good option if you just need a simple Chromebook. This is NOT the product to buy if you’re looking for a kid-proof Chromebook with “Drop Security” and decent customer service.

Dell chromebook 3189 education 2-in-1 review

I haven’t done a Chromebook analysis in about three years, and the OS has come a long way since then. Primarily, the ability to install Android apps vastly enhanced the device’s versatility, enabling it to sit comfortably between Windows laptops and Android tablets while remaining (mostly) affordable.
The Dell Chromebook 11 Inch 3189 is one of the company’s more affordable student options, with current prices varying from £259 to £279 for versions with an Intel Celeron N3060 Processor, 4GB of RAM, and memory configurations ranging from 16GB to 64GB eMMC. I would highly suggest the 64GB option for the sake of saving £20.
At the time of publishing, the Dell Chromebook 11 3000 2-in-1 with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage was available on Amazon for £229.99. I’m sure this is the same as the 3189 I looked at.
The £1200 XPS 13 2-in-1 is 13.7mm thick at its thickest point, despite being the same width (but with a larger screen) and 9mm shorter in depth. It also weights 0.2 kilograms less. With its 13.3-inch monitor, i3-6006U processor, and full-fat windows, the Latitude 3380, priced at £429, could be a better comparison. The Latitude is thicker, broader, and deeper, and it weights 1.6kg more.
