Cypress college tutoring
I’m not a Fullerton College student, so can I get tutoring? You cannot use the Tutoring Center if you are not already enrolled at Fullerton College, Cypress College, or the School of Continuing Education.
To use the Tutoring Center, what do I need?
You must know your student ID number and MyGateway password in order to use the Tutoring Center services. During your tutoring session, you should have access to your textbook, class notes, and any other class materials that will assist you.
What qualifications do the tutors at the Tutoring Center have?
Our tutors have been recommended by their teachers and have earned an A or B in the classes they tutor. Every tutor receives training in accordance with the College Reading and Learning Association’s (CRLA) tutor training qualification guidelines. Bachelor’s degrees, Master’s degrees, teaching credentials, and/or comprehensive teaching or technical experience are all examples of tutor credentials.

For intermediate foreign language learners of English, Cypress College offers transfer-level and degree-applicable courses. Any of the courses satisfy General Education requirements for AA and AS degrees, as well as offering elective transferable units to the CSU and UC programs. The most advanced ESL course leads directly to transfer-level composition. The courses merge multiple language skills with American culture, with an emphasis on preparing students for college-level reading, writing, and exam assignments. Individualized lab assignments help students improve their language skills. In addition, the ESL program provides elective courses in grammar, reading, listening, speaking, and pronunciation to help students improve their skills. Finally, the Cypress College ESL Department is the first in the state to offer Guided Pathways ESL Milestone certificates, which recognize advanced language competency and the completion of ESL coursework and prerequisite courses in ESL students’ educational pathways.
