Hello, Kongelys. It may simply be attributable to the color of your wallpaper. iOS measures the average brightness of pixels around the image and guesses whether white or black letters will appear better. Android 101: home screen customization (feat. galaxy s8+)

I’m attempting to change the font and color of the captions on the desktop icons. I was able to adjust the icon spacing (both horizontal and vertical) and the text size under Personalize. However, I am unable to change the font or color of the displayed text. The font says it’s modified, but it hasn’t, and the color picker is disabled. I’m using Windows 7 Basic, which isn’t Aero, but I can’t change the font or color.
Right-click on the desktop and choose Personalize | go to Window Color | Advanced Appearance Settings | choose ‘Desktop’ under Item (not Icon) | shift ‘Color 1’ from Black to White for a black desktop icon font color.
It’s nearly impossible to adjust the fonts/colors on desktop icons, as I’ve found. However, I’ve discovered that if you personalize (right-click on the desktop), then select Windows 7 Basic, then change the Windows appearance, then select icons on the scroll box, then switch on bold, you’ll end up with a readable icon caption.

The Android options menu can be customized to adjust the context or text appearance. The menu’s context and text color could not be changed with themes or styles. The menu layout is done by a custom item of class “com.android.internal.view.menu.IconMenuItem”View in the Android source code (datareslayouticon menu item layout.xml). To customize the menu, we can make adjustments to the above class. To achieve the same result, use the LayoutInflater factory class and change the view’s background and text colors.
I did, however, use Eclipse with exploded.aar dependencies in my case. But I could play with the default styles to see what happened. I’m not sure how to explode the libraries so that they can be used directly with Gradle or Android Studio. It’s deserving of further scrutiny.
Customizing a toolbar theme isn’t the way to go if you want to change the color of a single menu object. Using android:actionLayout and an action view for the menu item to accomplish this.
