How to restart firefox without closing the opened tab

Run ps -eaf | grep Firefox from the Terminal. Note the PID (the second column, a number) and run kill -9 PID> if Firefox appears in the list (note that there will always be an entry for grep Firefox, which is not what you want; the actual Firefox will be identified as something like /Applications/Firefox.app/Contents/MacOS/firefox).

How to fix mozilla firefox not responding or hangs issue

When you try to open or run Firefox, you always get the message Firefox is already open but not responding, and the old Firefox process must be closed in order to open a new window. Here are some options if you receive this letter. You may also see a message that says – To open a new window, you must first close the current Firefox process or restart your computer.
What has happened in this case is that your Firefox profile is unable to release the Lock. To put it another way, if a process locks those files so that no one else can access them. When you close an application, it stops accessing the files it’s using. Firefox may have shut down unexpectedly in our situation, leaving the lock in place. Break the lock by following the steps.
In the “Firefox is already running” dialog box, you can also press the Close Firefox button. When you press the close button, the developers have included a clever trick that is enabled. It will ignore the dialog, terminate the Firefox process(es), and then automatically restart Firefox after a few seconds.

(fixed) firefox is already running but is not responding

When I closed the previous Firefox window on my Android phone, I had it set to close all of my windows. I just upgraded to the latest Firefox for Android and can’t seem to find a way to do this. Any time I close the window, I have to manually close all of the tabs. Surely the latest version does not provide us with fewer choices and features?!

I assume he was referring to closing the window using the Android x button or closing all available applications. When I use the menu leave, all of my tabs are closed. When I close Firefox from my Android computer, it does not close the windows, while the previous version did so without quitting Firefox.
