Asus rtn10u router setup as a repeater

The device will restart on its own. The device has been reset and is ready to use once the power light stops blinking. The router will not be reset to an earlier firmware update, but all settings will be reset to factory defaults.
Asus RT-N10P Default Wifi Name renamed (SSID). Asus routers come with pre-configured network names (with the name of the manufacturer). We suggest using a different name since the default name identifies the make of your router unnecessarily, making it easier for hackers to break in.
A hacker can easily discover the manufacturer’s default password for your Asus RT-N10P router and use it to gain access to your wireless network. As a result, it’s a good idea to update your Asus RT-N10P router’s administrator password. When choosing a new password, strive to use a complex combination of numbers and letters, and avoid using a password that can be easily guessed.
You can use MAC filtering to restrict access to your Asus RT-N10P router. To use this function, enter the 12-character MAC ID of each device that will connect to your network into your Asus RT-N10P router. If you add or delete devices, make sure to update this information.

To upgrade, you will need an internet connection, a device, and a formatted USB flash drive, depending on the model.

New!!! how to setup and reset asus rt-n10 2015

Shagger wrote: My main router is a D-LINK DIR-832, which is connected to my modem. I gave the first RT-N10P the IP address 192.168.1.2 and the second RT-N10P the IP address 192.168.1.3. I linked the cables to the main D-LINK router’s Lan port #2 on one side and LAN port #3 on the other. Is LAN PORT #2 and LAN PORT #3 (above) the physical port connections on the D-Link side or the real port connections on each RT-N10P? If it’s the latter, I don’t see any obvious problems based on your setup.
Note: I’m assuming you’ve configured each RT-gateway N10P’s to use 192.168.1.1. If not, double-check that the static IP settings on each RT-N10P are identical (other than their actual IP addresses being 192.168.1.2 vs 192.168.1.3).
I didn’t daisy chain them together, Shagger wrote. I also disabled the DHCP services on both routers, allowing only the D-LINK router to allocate IP addresses. On the D-LINK router, however, I did not assign a static IP address. I did not include the WAN port in the LAN configuration. In this scenario, there’s no need to set a static WAN IP on the D-Link router. Assigning the WAN PORT (or LAN PORT 4) to be part of the LAN isn’t necessary if the RT-N10P routers aren’t connected via their WAN PORT (or LAN PORT 4). (although may as well do it).
