For 5GHz, V1, V2, and V3 use three external antennas and three internal antennas. The V4 and V5 only have three external antennas, but they are dual-band, 2.4GHz and 5GHz. And the 5GHz chipset is now built into the motherboard.

Link one of the LAN ports (possibly port 1) to a computer that is running a TFTP server. IP 192.168.0.66/24 must be installed on the host computer. At 192.168.0.88, the router can function as a TFTP client.
Press and hold the WPS/Reset Button on the router to start the TFTP recovery process, then turn it on. Keep pressing the WPS/Reset button until the WPS LED (the one with two arrows pointing in opposite directions) illuminates.
After that, connect Baite to your PC and connect one of the router’s GND pins to the CS pin of the SPI flash chip. After a few seconds, switch on the router and delete the object that was used to short the CS pin (when ethernet LEDs go off)

Returning to stock firmware after installing DD-WRT firmware on the TP-Link Archer C7. EDIT / It’s been a year since I wrote this article, and I recently discovered LEDE-based optimized custom firmware for the Archer C7, which addresses the NAT performance problem while also improving stability. The intermediate step for ‘upgrading’ to Archer C7 V2_ is unnecessary because your router is already running the latest US firmware update, Archer C7(US) V2_.
I installed DD-WRT last week, but my Tomato is missing me terribly; I’d like to see if I can get similar choices (possibilities) with OpenWRT, and I tried to revert to stock firmware (found here:https://forum.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=85237&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=30).
I didn’t pursue tftp because it seems that DDWRT doesn’t like people who try to uninstall their firmware or macusers too much… So it would be extremely helpful if anyone could assist me in switching to openwrt, if only to see if I prefer it.
Also, double-check if you’re using the right firmware. If you try to use the wrong firmware, it will either a) be rejected outright as a mismatch, b) become too wide and be rejected, or c) brick the router.
I followed the DDWRT guide to revert to stock, but it didn’t work. I downloaded an old stock firmware, renamed it, allowed tftp, and the switch began, but the router still rebooted on the DDWRT that was mounted.
Just a guess, but I’m aware that some routers support multiple OS partitions, probably for disaster recovery. To put it another way, if you screw up a firmware update and the device won’t boot, the system will fall back to the recovery partition. And everything works well with the original/stock firmware. However, it’s likely that dd-wrt isn’t completely compatible with that router for whatever reason. That’s where the mtd utils come in handy; you may need to use them to clean up the partitions.
Prior to flashing an Archer c7 V2 with LEDE, Open-WRT, or DD-WRT, you must first allow recobery mode inside the system.
